A monotonicity property of weighted log-rank tests

چکیده

The logrank test is a well-known nonparametric which often used to compare the survival distributions of two samples including right-censored observations, it also known as Mantel-Haenszel test. Gρ family tests, generalizes by using weights assigned observations. In this paper, we present switch monotonicity property for was motivated need derive bounds statistic in case imprecise data This states that, when all observations from independent groups are ranked together, value z-test monotonically increasing after switching pair adjacent values groups. Two examples provided motivate and illustrate result presented paper.

A Monotonicity Property for Weighted Delaunay Triangulations

where i is the linear interpolation of f over the triangle Ti in T and the sum is over all triangles in the triangulation. One may consider changing the triangulation by exchanging two triangles joined by an edge, forming a quadrilateral, by the triangles obtained by switching the diagonal of the quadrilateral; this is called an edge ‡ip or a 2 ! 2 bistellar ‡ip. He showed that the roughness of...

A Class of Weighted Log-rank Tests for Survival Data When the Event Is Rare

In many epidemiological and medical follow-up studies a majority of study subjects do not experience the event of interest during the followup period. An important example is the on-going prostate, lung, colorectal, and ovarian cancer screening trial of the National Cancer Institute. In such a situation, the widely used G family of weighted log-rank statistics essentially reduces to the special...

LIFETEST+ODS+IML=Stratified Log Rank Tests

When analyzing right-censored survival data, equality of survival curves across treatment groups is often tested using log rank tests (Peto and Peto 1972), aka Mantel-Haenszel tests. For instance, in a cancer trial, the primary response variable might be time to disease progression and the treatment groups might be chemotherapy regimens. To increase power and protect against baseline imbalances...

Testing treatment effect by combining weighted log-rank tests and using empirical likelihood

For testing treatment effect with time to event data, combinations of several tests are often desired when the hazard functions of the two groups are nonproportional. Yang and Prentice [2005. Semiparametric analysis of short term and long term hazard ratios with two sample survival data. Biometrika 92, 1–17.] defined a new two-sample semiparametric model that accommodates nonproportional hazard...

Rank Tests for Independence — with a Weighted Contamination Alternative

Two rank tests for independence of bivariate random variables against an alternative model with weighted contamination are proposed. The model may emphasize the association of X and Y on items with high ranks in one variable (say X) and generalizes an alternative in Hájek and Šidák (1967). The model may be applied to both complete paired data and paired data which is truncated in one variable. ...
